Why I created this course...
We want the best for our students, and this includes minimizing their potential for injuries in yoga. But the truth is, that even after we graduate from yoga teacher training, most of us don’t have all the anatomical and technical knowledge to help our students adapt their practice and manage their injuries.
This training will fill in your educational gaps by providing you with essential knowledge and tools, including:
You can do all of these things without going beyond your professional scope and offering a medical or PT diagnosis. Instead, you will learn to provide the best, most up-to-date techniques for helping your students practice safely and skillfully.
How the course addresses common injury management challenges:

We cover all of the most common injuries that students experience, including knee, hip & hamstring, lower-back, SI joint, and shoulder challenges.
Professional & Ethical Standards
Help your students without crossing professional lines by purporting to practice medicine or provide therapy.

Hi -- I'm Jason.
I’ve been teaching yoga for more than 20 years teaching yoga and training yoga teachers.
For the past 10 years, I’ve honed my approach to yoga anatomy by looking to peers outside of the yoga community, in the fields of physical therapy, orthopedics, traumatology, and sports medicine.
In this training, I shed light on the fine line you need to walk as a yoga teacher to offer your students the help that they need without diagnosing.
To do this, you need to be intimately familiar with common yoga injuries, why they happen, and how you can offer sequences and modifications that will lessen the probability of creating or worsening injuries.
This work is ongoing for all of us because no two bodies are the same. But that’s also what makes it so interesting and fun to share!

The bulk of the course is delivered through pre-recorded videos. We deliver our courses this way for two reasons: First, it gives you the flexibility to move through the content on your own timeline. Second, it allows you to join from a different time zone. And third, it ensures high quality video and no interruptions -- the last thing we want is for you to experience a disruption in the internet connection during a class or lecture!
If you sign up for the Group Call Option, you will have live Zoom calls once/month with Jason for 60 minutes. This will allow you to ask questions.
Yes, you will earn 30 CEUs for the Self-Paced Option of this course. If you select the Group Call Option, you will receive 42 CEUs. After you've completed the course, you will contact Yoga Alliance to register those hours.
Yes! If you can't make it to the calls, you can watch them on replay -- we will post the links shortly thereafter.
